HC Deb 24 May 1909 vol 5 c980W
Dr. AMBROSE

asked the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland. whether he is aware that the Estates Commissioners several months ago took over the farm known as Cloughbanley, in the parish of Kildicomogue, county Mayo, the property of Mr. Desmond Fitzgerald, of Turlough Park, for the purpose of rein stating seven evicted tenants; could he say when those tenants are to be reinstated; and is the landlord offering any obstacle to their reinstatement?

Mr. BIRRELL

The Estates Commissioners have not yet acquired the lands referred to, but proceedings for their acquisition are pending under the Evicted Tenants Act, 1907. An objection to their acquisition has been lodged by the owner.
