HC Deb 19 May 1909 vol 5 cc535-6W
Mr. FETHERSTONHAUGH

asked the Secretary of State for War whether he is aware that the "Impartial Reporter," of Enniskillen, a paper with a wide circulation in Tyrone, Fermanagh, and adjoining counties, was on the list of newspapers for War Office advertisements from 1825 until recently; will he have it restored to the list; and can he say on whose suggestion it was removed from the list?

Mr. HALDANE

There has been no official list of newspapers for War Office advertisements for many years. Local advertisements are issued under the direc- tion of the military authorities of the various commands, who are instructed to select those papers which from the character and scope of their circulation appear to be the best suited to give the desired publicity.
