§ Mr. CLYNESasked the Postmaster-General if he can now state whether the conditions of the Fair Wage Resolution are being observed by Messrs. Charles Webster in connection with work for his Department; and, if not, what action he proposes to take in the matter?
§ Mr. SYDNEY BUXTONMessrs. Webster comply with the Fair Wages Clause in their Mail Contract so far as their mail cart drivers are concerned. I have, however, received representations respecting the wages paid by them to their farriers and wheelwrights, who perform work incidental to the mail service. I am making inquiries on this point, and I hope shortly to be able to settle the matter.
