HC Deb 16 July 1909 vol 7 c2489W
Mr. POWER

asked the Chief Secretary whether he is aware that Mr. Patrick Power, of Kilmacthomas, duly filed a claim with the Estates Commissioners as an evicted tenant; that he gave particulars showing that he was evicted from the estate of Mr. P. M. Power, of Farthlegg, county Waterford; that the Estates Commissioners have informed him that he does not come within the class of persons described as evicted tenants by the Land Act of 1903; will he say on what grounds they have come to this decision; and whether they will reconsider his application?

Mr. BIRRELL

The Estates Commissioners inform me that the eviction in this case did not take place within the time specified in section 2 (1) (d) of the Irish Land Act, 1103. The application cannot therefore ben entertained.
