To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what assessment he has made of the proportion of school children who went on to university, broken down by residence in each Scottish parliamentary constituency, in each of the last five years. [74399]

Information is not available in the format requested. However, information is available on the percentage of school leavers from publicly funded secondary schools in Scotland entering a full-time course of higher education for each Local Authority area. This information is set out in the table:

As from 1 July 1999, this will be a matter for the Scottish Parliament.
