§ Mr. MacdonaldThe two nationalised industries sponsored by the Scottish Office are Caledonian MacBrayne Limited (CalMac) and Highlands and Islands Airports Limited (HIAL).
The Scottish Office does not specifically allocate an element of grant to meet CalMac and HIAL' s administration costs. Account is taken of administrative costs when the Department considers and approves the revenue deficit grant paid to each company each year.
The following projects were funded in 1996–97 and 1997–98 at a total cost of over £50,000.
