To ask the Secretary of State for Health what is the cost per head of population of the ambulance service in Greater Manchester; and if he will make a statement. [8009]

Mr. Horam

The cost per head of population of the ambulance service is broken down into two parts. For the emergency service, the cost per person is £6.37 per year. For the non-emergency service, the cost is £2.68 per year.
