To ask the Secretary of State for Health if he will make a statement about the progress of private finance initiative projects in the NHS in London. [8061]

Mr. Horam

The national health service in London is making good progress with the private finance initiative. A number of projects have been approved and in a number of others private finance possibilities are being explored.

Mr. McAllion

To ask the Secretary of State for Health if he will list the consultancy contracts awarded by(a) health authorities and (b) NHS trusts to Newchurch and Co. in relation to private finance initiative contracts, indicating the value of each of those contracts. [8114]

The information requested is not available centrally. It is a matter for each national health service organisation to establish its own needs where the employment of external contractors may be required.
