HC Deb 19 July 1995 vol 263 cc1532-3W
Mr. Kennedy

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what advice he has given to Highland regional council in respect of the future availability and usage of the piers at Kyle of Lochalsh and Kyleakin for future ferry use; and if he will make a statement. [35850]

Lord James Douglas-Hamilton

We have not given advice to Highland regional council on the usage of the piers at Kyle of Lochalsh and Kyleakin for future ferry use. This is a matter for Highland regional council. The Scottish Office, however, would not be prepared to permit any parking or queuing for a ferry on the trunk road in Kyle.
