To ask the Secretary of State for Education what proposals she has to reform the governing bodies of universities.

Mr. Boswell

My right hon. Friend has no such proposals. However, the Committee of Chairmen of University Councils and Boards issued guidance on governance arrangements to its members, including those in Northern Ireland, in December. We endorse the broad approach taken by the committee.
