To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment how much will be lost to the new North East Lincolnshire authority as a result of the impact of the 1996 area cost adjustment on its financial allocations. [4894]

Nothing. The effect of using data from the 1994 new earnings survey is to reduce the area cost adjustment factors for authorities in London and the south-east and distribute more to other authorities, including North East Lincolnshire.
