HL Deb 26 May 1994 vol 555 c49WA
Earl Peel

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they have any plans to improve FM radio reception in Swaledale, North Yorkshire.

Lord Strathclyde

The BBC and the Radio Authority (in response to proposals from independent broadcasters) are responsible for considering deficiencies in the reception of radio services in any area and for deciding the appropriate action to take.

The Radiocommunications Agency in my department will consider proposals from these bodies, for example for new network filler transmitters, to deal with any deficiencies and will seek to agree solutions which do not cause undue interference to other users of radio.
