To ask the Secretary of State for Health what is the number of whole-time equivalent district nurses in 1992.

Mr. Sackville

The latest information shows that in England, at 30 September 1991, there were 9,900 whole-time equivalent district nurses.

At October 1992, there were 9,120 whole-time equivalent practice nurses.
