The requested information for 1979 is published in table 2.21 of "Criminal Statistics, England and Wales 1989". Information for 1992 is not yet available but information for 1991, which is the latest published figure, has just been published in table 2.11 of "Criminal Statistics, England and Wales 1991". Copies of both are available in the Library.
