To ask the Parliamentary Secretary, Lord Chancellor's Department how many poll tax cases are currently awaiting court hearing.

The number of summonses issued for the non-payment of the community charge is included in the information supplied to the Library of the House. Not all summonses will result in a court hearing; some subsequently will be withdrawn before reaching court, but in the last recorded quarter 7,700 people attended court in connection with liability orders.
