To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment how much money has been obtained in Liverpool in capital receipts from the sale of council homes since the introduction of the right-to-buy.

The total discounted values of all sales of houses and flats for each year from 1980–81, as reported by Liverpool city council, are listed in the table. Actual cash receipts in any year will depend on the extent to which the sales were financed by loans from the authority.
