§ Mr. Douglas HoggI discussed the question of Baltic gold with Baltic leaders when I visited Latvia, Lithuania292W and Estonia from 3–6 September. President Landsbergis of Lithuania raised the subject of Lithuania's gold when my right hon. Friends the Prime Minister and Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs met him in Blackpool on 8 October. We have invited each Baltic Government to send a representative to London in the next few weeks for a first round of negotiations on the gold and other financial issues.
