Mr. Vaz

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs when he last met the Foreign Minister of the United Arab Emirates; and if he will make a statement.

My right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs last met Mr. Rashid Abdullah on 25 September in New York, in the margins of the United Nations General Assembly. They agreed that relations between Britain and the United Arab Emirates remained excellent.

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he has any plans to visit the United Arab Emirates and Abu Dhabi.

My right hon. Friend has no present plans to visit the United Arab Emirates and Abu Dhabi, but I plan to visit the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Qatar from 28 to 31 October.
