§ Mr. SoleyTo ask the Secretary of State for the Environment how much higher the estimated cost, and planned provision for HR,4S rent rebate subsidy, in the years 1990–91, 1991–92, 1992–93 and 1993–94, would be were it not for the assumed transfer of rental income from the tenants of some councils reducing the estimated and planned cost of that subsidy.
§ Sir George YoungUnder the new arrangements each authority receives sufficient HRA subsidy to meet any deficit on its assumed income and outgoings. The total contributions to rent rebates which local authorities make from their housing accounts are currently estimated to be £195 million in 1990–91 and £311 million in 1991–92. No decisions have yet been made for later years.
