To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if his Department intends to bring forward any new proposals in the field of regional policy.

Mr. Leigh

We have no plans to introduce new regional measures, but policy is kept under continuing review. The Government remain committed to an effective regional policy and will continue to make the necessary resources available.
