§ Mr. ChopeOur proposals for the reform of road traffic law are set out in the White Paper "The Road User and the Law" (Cm. 576). These include the creation of a new offence of
causing death by careless driving while unfit through drink or drugs72W and the reformulation of the reckless driving offences. Legislation to implement these proposals will be introduced at the earliest opportunity.
