To ask the Secretary of State for Transport when he last visited Manchester airport.

The Minister responsible for aviation and shipping visited the airport on 25 June.

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport if he will designate Manchester airport under sections 78 and 79 of the Civil Aviation Act 1982.

We are considering the metropolitan borough of Stockport's application and the many representations for and against designation.
