§ Mr. TrippierEstimated spending on my Department's urban regeneration programmes in 1987–88, per head of the northern region's population, was £22.7, of which spending on derelict land reclamation was £3.86 per head.
Expenditure in Scotland is a matter for my right hon. and learned Friend the Secretary of State for Scotland; expenditure on factory provision generally is a matter for my right hon. and learned Friend the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster.
Note:
1. Urban regeneration programmes include urban development grant and urban regeneration grant (now city grant), urban development corporations, the urban programme, derelict land grant and estate action.
2. Mid-1987 population estimates are not yet available; mid-1986 estimates have therefore been used.
3. Urban programme, urban development grant and urban regeneration grant include some spending on factory provision.
