To ask the Secretary of State for Defence why the Hawk aircraft referred to on page 23 of the "Statement on the Defence Estimates" are not included in the list of front-line RAF units given on page 76 of the same document.

Annex C of volume 1 of the "Statement on the Defence Estimates 1988" is primarily concerned with front-line units. The Hawk aircraft mentioned on page 23 are not included because their primary role is training.
