§ Mr. ChopeI refer to my reply to the hon. Member for Stoke-on-Trent, North (Ms. Walley) on 25 May 1988. 17 vehicles have been converted so far to run on lead-free fuel.
Wherever possible, vehicles are now being converted to run on lead-free fuel and as new models capable of running on both types of fuel without adjustment come into the fleet the need for conversion will progressively diminish.
