§ Mr. Frank CookTo ask the Secretary of State for Energy if he will place in the Library all copies to date of the annual report on research into the possible hazardous characteristics of high-voltage overhead transmission lines, first requisitioned by him from the Central Electricity Generating Board in February 1980.
§ Mr. Michael SpicerThe Secretary of State has received from the Central Electricity Generating Board five reports on research into the possible effects on human health of high-voltage overhead transmission lines, and I am arranging for copies to be placed in the Library. The last report was received in January 1986 when it was agreed that the practice of reporting annually would be replaced by reports from the board whenever significant changes in the position occurred. There have been frequent discussions between my own officials and the board's staff, and the board has published a number of technical articles on the subject.
