To ask the Secretary of State for Defence if he will make a statement on progress in the conventional defence improvement initiative.

Mr. Ian Stewart

The conventional defence improve-ments exercise, which is fully supported by the United Kingdom, was reviewed by NATO Defence Ministers at their December meeting. Ministers welcomed the progress made in addressing key deficiencies in NATO's defence posture.
