§ Mr. DunnMy right hon. Friend has received more than a thousand letters critical of the recommendation of the Advisory Committee on the Supply and Education of Teachers that the mandatory requirement for teachers of deaf and partially hearing pupils to possess a specialist qualification should be removed and fewer than a hundred letters critical of the proposal that specialist initial teacher training courses for teachers of the deaf should be phased out. My right hon. Friend and my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Wales are considering their response to these and other recommendations of the advisory committee's report.
