HC Deb 22 February 1985 vol 73 c605W
Mr. Thurnham

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what measures will be taken by his Department following the conclusions of the report, "Government Spending."

Mr. Renton

The FCO is currently considering what action it will take to implement the recommendations of the report on Government purchasing as Departments have been asked to prepare action documents by 1 April. We have, however, already identified some areas where we can achieve greater value for money. These include improved arrangements for travel, freighting of officers' personal effects and obtaining supplies through central agencies.
