Mr. Clelland

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will supply the statistics relating to passenger admissions and refusals at Newcastle airport categorised according to old Commonwealth, new Commonwealth and Pakistan, and so on.

The numbers of passengers admitted into the United Kingdom at Newcastle airport during the 12 months ending November 1985 are given in the following table. During this period, eight passengers who had been refused leave to enter were removed.

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many people refused entry under the primary purpose rule (a) have appealed against the decision and (b) have succeeded in winning their appeal.
