asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what civil defence grant allocations were made to county councils and the Greater London council for 1983–84, 1984–85 and 1985–86.

(2) what grants have been made to county councils and to the Greater London council for the attendance on any civil defence training course of members of their staff pursuant to regulation 4(1)(d) of the Civil Defence (General Local Authority Functions) Regulations 1983 since 1 December 1983; and in what year;

(3) what grants have been made to county councils and to the Greater London council for the training of their own staff and the staff of district or borough councils in their area pursuant to regulation 4(1)(c) of the Civil Defence (General Local Authority Functions) Regulations 1983 since 1 December 1983; and in what year.
