§ Mr. Tony Banksasked the Secretary of State for the Environment what studies of the effect of council house sales in London have been made by his Department; and what information he has of any such studies undertaken by other bodies.
§ Sir George Young[pursuant to his reply, 25 October 1984, c. 705.]: I am aware of the report prepared earlier this year by the Greater London Council on the implications of council house sales for local authority housing in the capital. My Department is undertaking research to monitor the right to buy more generally, and I expect that the results of that research will have a bearing on issues raised in the GLC's report.
