HC Deb 30 October 1984 vol 65 c940W
Mr. Burt

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he is yet in a position to make a further announcement concerning the increase in the current year's grant-in-aid to the Nature Conservancy Council.

Mr. Waldegrave

Subject to the approval of Parliament of the necessary Supplementary Estimate I propose to increase by £2.55 million the Nature Conservancy Council's grant-in-aid for work on habitat protection. For this purpose the cash limit for Class VIII, Vote 2 has been increased from £126,887,000 to £129,437,000. This increase is offset by a corresponding reduction in the cash limit for the Department of the Environment, New Towns (DOE/NT1) from £49.3 million to £46.8 million and will, therefore, not add to the planning total of public expenditure.
