§ Mr. Corbettasked the Secretary of State for Transport whether he will list those sections of the M1 motorway up 113W to junction 19 and those sections of the M6 motorway to junction 7 which are presently without lighting, giving the total number of miles of unlit motorway between these points and the total number of miles of motorway between these points which are lit.
§ Mrs. ChalkerThe unlit sections of the M1 motorway up to junction 19 are from Newport Pagnell service area (north of junction 14) to Heyford (junction 16), and Watford Gap (junction 17) to Catthorpe (junction 19). The unlit sections of the M6 motorway up to junction 7 are from Catthorpe (junction 19 on M1) to the eastern side of junction 2 and from the western side of junction 2 to Coleshill (junction 4). The total unlit length of motorway on the MI up to junction 19 is 22 miles, and the corresponding lit length is 55 miles. The total unlit length of motorway on the M6 up to junction 7 is 21 miles, and the corresponding lit length is 15 miles.
