HC Deb 12 November 1984 vol 67 c125W
Mr. Nellist

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs whether, during his forthcoming visit to the Indian sub-continent, he will be discussing the introduction of tape recording facilities for interviews carried out by entry clearance officers and immigration officers; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Renton

My right hon. and learned Friend has no present plans to visit the Indian sub-continent.

I hope to visit Pakistan and Bangladesh early in the new year and will then give further consideration to the possibility of the tape recording of entry clearance interviews.
