asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will confirm that governors of Her Majesty's prisons in England and Wales must hear applications from prisoners on Saturday, unless that day is a public holiday, and when governors were last reminded of this duty.

Prison Rule 8(2) requires governors to hear applications from inmates on every day other than a Sunday or public holiday. Governors were reminded of this duty earlier this year.
