asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will estimate the annual number of births within the first eight months of the parents' marriage.

Mr. John Patten

In England and Wales 40,772 such births occurred during 1982.

Staff employed in regional health authority headquarters and regional units (including blood transfusing service) at 30 June 1983.
