Mr. Golding

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what have been the recommendations of the

steering group on health services information submitted to him on the question of the information needed by district health authorities, regional health authorities and his Department about demand for hospital facilities, including waiting times.

The steering group's recommendations were made in its first report to the Secretary of State, published by Her Majesty's Stationery Office in October 1982. I refer the hon. Member to chapter 11 of that report, copies of which are in the Library of the House.
