HC Deb 29 February 1984 vol 55 c251W
Mr. Deakins

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he has received the recent Council of Europe resolutions on the operations of pharmaceutical companies in the Third world; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Kenneth Clarke

I have not received any resolutions from the Council of Europe on the operations of pharmaceutical companies in the Third world. The parliamentary assembly of the Council on Europe, on 28 September 1983, made a number of recommendations to the Committee of Ministers concerning the supply and sale of European pharmaceutical products in the countries of the Third world. A response is being considered by the Committee of Ministers Deputies, which will meet between 14 and 21 March 1984.
