Mr. Dubs

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many people are currently in receipt of (a) supplementary benefit and (b) contributory benefit from the Wandsworth offices of his Department at Irene house, Arndale house and Parkgate road; and what were the comparable figures for May 1979.

Records of the number of people receiving contributory benefits in each local office area are not kept. The total number of supplementary benefit cases in action at the Wandsworth local offices in December 1983, the latest available period, and May 1979 were as follows:
