§ Mr. Parryasked the Secretary of State for Employment if he will make a statement on his recent visit to Merseyside.
Mr. KingI visited my Department's offices at Runcorn to meet the staff and see the work being done there. I visited youth training schemes at the Cavendish Enterprise Centre Ltd in Birkenhead and at Associated Biscuits' plant at Aintree in Liverpool. I met a delegation of shop stewards from the Cammell Laird ship yard at Birkenhead. I also visited the offices of the Advisory Conciliation and Arbitration Service at Garston.
