Mr. David Atkinson

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he is satisfied with the present law permitting the sale of sheath knives and catapults to young people under the age of 18 years.

Mr. Mayhew:

We have received no evidence to suggest that control of the sale of sheath knives and catapults would be justified. Existing legislation is available to deal with instances of their misuse.
