§ Mr. Ian Lloyd asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what are the weight restrictions which are currently applied to all forms of structure erected in Trafalgar Square, or to vehicles allowed access to the surface of the square for whatever reason.
§ Mr. Macfarlane:There are no specific weight restrictions on structures erected in the square. In view of the possibility of damage to the stone paving slabs, vehicles are confined to an area in the south-west corner of the square. They are restricted in weight to a maximum of 30 cwt. when laden and in number to a total of six at any one time.
Mr. Ian Lloyd asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what estimates he has received for the cost of erecting the Christmas tree which is presented by the Norwegian Government in Trafalgar Square.
