§ Mr. HayhoeIndustrial civil servants do not have incremental salary scales. During apprenticeship and other formal periods of initial training, pay is increased annually in step with the increasing value of the contribution made by the trainee to the organisation.
The proportion of industrial civil servants engaged in formal training is approximately 6 per cent.
