HC Deb 08 June 1981 vol 6 cc3-4W
Mr. Alan Williams

asked the Prime Minister how many public sector workers have accepted pay settlements in excess of 7 per cent. in the current pay round; which categories of workers are involved; and how many are in each category.

The Prime Minister

The Government do not monitor pay settlements comprehensively or in detail. The following list shows the approximate level of the settlements for major groups reached in the public services in this round. In addition, the Government will implement increases for NHS doctors and dentists within an average of 6 per cent. Proposals for revised rates are being put to the professions.
