HC Deb 05 February 1980 vol 978 c112W
Mr. S. C. Silkin

asked the Attorney-General whether (a) he will encourage the Director of Public Prosecutions to maintain his policy of increasing the public knowledge of the workings of his Department and (b) to that end he will arrange for the Director to make an annual report for publication as a parliamentary paper.

The Attorney-General

I am content that the Director should continue his policy of increasing the public's general knowledge of the working of his Department, but I do not believe that any form of report other than that which is already published annually in "Criminal Statistics (England and Wales)" would be justified.
