HC Deb 27 July 1979 vol 971 c538W
Mr. Parry

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he is satisfied with the law relating to the licensing of gaming clubs and the operation of the Gaming Board.

Mr. Whitelaw

The law relating to the licensing of gaming clubs is among the matters reviewed by the Royal Commission on Gambling, whose final report (Cmnd. 7200) I am currently considering. I have full confidence in the Gaming Board.

Mr. Parry

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he is satisfied with the operating of the licensed gaming clubs in Liverpool.

Mr. Whitelaw

It is not among my responsibilities to monitor individual gaming clubs. Any information which would suggest that the operation of individual gaming clubs is not satisfactory should be given either to the police or to the Gaming Board for Great Britain.
