asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he considers the provision of facilities for dental treatment in the Tarporley area to be adequate; and if he will make a statement.

In Tarporley itself there are no dentists providing National Health Service general dental services but services are available in such places as Chester, Nantwich, Crewe, Winsford and Northwich. In the area of the Cheshire family practitioner committee as a whole, the ratio of dentists to population is only slightly less than the national average. Additionally community dental services are provided in the health centre in Tarporley for patients in the school and priority classes.
