§ Mr. TomlinsonThe House will recall that under the terms of the bridging arrangements described in Cmnd. 6854 361W advance contributions made in accordance with the bridging resolution would, when the Fifth Replenishment became effective, be regarded as having been made under the Fifth Replenishment Resolution. It has been reported by the International Development Association that the requisite number of notifications of intention to contribute under the Fifth Replenishment have now been received, and that the Fifth Replenishment of the Association accordingly became effective on 29th November 1977. Her Majesty's Government's contribution of £158,257,192.18, which was made on 7th November 1977 as part of the bridging arrangements, will therefore now be regarded as the first of the three equal annual instalments of our contribution under the Fifth Replenishment proper.
