§ Dr. SummerskillThe licensing of London taxis is the responsibility of an Assistant Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police. The number of licensed taxis in London has increased in recent years and I am not aware of any general difficulty in obtaining licences. I am sure that the Assistant Commissioner would 503W be very willing to look into any specific problems the hon. Member has in mind.
